External Gear Pump

An external gear pump is a type of rotary positive displacement pump that uses two external spur gears to move fluid by displacement. The gears rotate in opposite directions, trapping fluid between the teeth of the gears and the pump casing. As the gears rotate, the trapped fluid is forced around the gears and out of the pump. External gear pumps are used in a variety of applications, including automotive, industrial, and medical. They are often used to transfer and meter fluids such as oil, fuel, and water.
