Shaft Coupling

A shaft coupling, or shaft coupling, is a mechanical device used to join two or more rotational shafts together. The coupling can be used to connect two different shafts of varying length and diameters, as well as transfer motion from one shaft to the next. The coupling can be made from a variety of materials, such as metal, plastic or rubber and is available in many different sizes and types. The most common uses for shaft couplings are found in car engines, pumps and motors.
