# Step 1: How to lift and lower the pump?

Use the pit-less adaptor which is like a metal plumbing elbow that can be slid apart into two pieces. The lower half of the portion of the adaptor which has rubber O-ring on it is permanently overlaid by boring a hole in the side of the metal well casing.

The remaining half of the adaptor is then connected to black polyethylene pipe which goes down to somewhere near the bottom of the well where the pump is situated. You will notice that the top end of the pit-less adaptor is threaded. This is done to allow T-shaped piece of 1 1/4” diameter steel to go into the pit-less adaptor.

When you start the installation process, the movable part of the pit-less adaptor is slid down and creates a connection with the immovable part of the fitting bolted and thus makes a waterproof connection angled at 90 degrees.

To remove the pump and water line you will need to separate that part of the pit-less adaptor which has been slid down. For separating this part out of the well, you will need a home-made tool.

It's made with a six-foot length of 1 1/4" diameter threaded steel water pipe. The rear end of this T-shaped tool is threaded into the hole at the top of the pit-less adaptor. Thus, it enables you to pull it out of the well. It simplifies pulling out the pipe and pumps out of the well.
