Pressure Relief Valves are self-operating valves used while handling pressurized fluids, or fluid & gas mixtures. Pressure relief valves are safety valves that are designed to protect dosing pumps from damage due to excessive pressure. Pressure relief valves are designed to operate at a specific pressure rating. When the back pressure exceeds the rated pressure, the pressure relief valve opens to release the excess pressure. Likewise, when the back pressure reaches the designed pressure, the pressure relief valve closes.
