Rotary Vane Vacuum Pump

A two-stage rotary vane pump works by connecting the intake of the second rotor with the exhaust fan of the first rotor. This configuration helps the pump achieve a higher volumetric flow and lower vacuum pressure. 

The market offers a double screw and a triple screw variety for rotary vane pumps. In the double screw variety, the first rotor takes power from the driveshaft and the other using a complex set of timing gears. In triple screw pumps, the central rotor meshes with idler rotors. Inside screw pumps, liquid gets entrapped and forced through the pump from the action rotation by the screws. 

Vane pumps are mostly applicable in high-pressure pumps and inside automobiles that require supercharging, air-conditioning, steering, and automatic-transmission pumps. These pumps are perfect for mid-range pressure applications such as carbonators. 

Rotary vacuum pumps usually use an ISO 100, ISO 68, and SAE 30 oil.

You do not need to use any type of valve to use a rotary pump. The rotary pump is the area where the flow remains continuous. In addition, since the flow remains continuous, there is no requirement for a valve. 

Rotary vane pumps can handle liquid temperatures from -32 to 260 degrees Celsius, and differential pressure to 15 bars and 200PSI. 

Minerals are very suitable for most vacuum pump applications around science and industry. The typical and applicable oil in large rotary piston pumps is a mineral oil that goes through a distillation process to reduce vapor pressure. 

Running your vacuum pump without applying lubrication can increase the amount of heat the machine generates. Eventually, if the pump runs out of oil, the machine will have extreme friction inside causing it to break internally.

Vacuum pump oil in mechanical pump systems is not the same as the compressor oil that goes specifically inside the compressor cylinder to ease the piston’s function. Vacuum pump oil is a special kind of mix that lubricates complex parts of a rotary vane vacuum pump.

You should never apply motor or engine oil in rotary vacuum pumps because they have a different viscosity in comparison to Vacuum pumps. Motor oils also do not have any vacuum properties at all. Most motor oils carry numerous additives like anti-corrosion compounds and rust inhibitors.
