Three Phase Star Delta Starters

Three phase star delta starters are used to start three phase motors. They are used to reduce the starting current of the motor and to reduce the starting torque. The starter consists of three contactors, an overload relay, and a timer for setting the time delay. The contactors are used to connect the motor to the power supply in either star or delta configuration. The overload relay is used to protect the motor from overloads. The timer is used to set the time delay for the motor to start in star configuration and then switch to delta configuration after the time delay has elapsed.
