Transmission Shaft

sTransmission shafts are used to allow power to be transmitted from one type of machine to another as well as to direct motion, control torque, and to reduce speed. They are commonly used in applications such as vehicle drivetrains, wind turbines, agricultural tractors, conveyors, pumps, machine tools, and so on. Transmission shafts typically consist of a steel or aluminum shaft with a series of teeth cut into it, known as splines, which enable the transferring of power. The shape of the teeth varies, depending on the application, and they can be cylindrical, triangular, or square, just to name a few.
