Ultrasonic level transmitter:

Ultrasonic level transmitter operates on the basic principle of using sound waves to determine fluid level. The frequency range for ultrasonic methods is ~20–200 kHz. Transducer directs waves downward in bursts onto the surface of the material whose level is to be measured. Echoes of these waves return to the transducer, which performs calculations to convert the distance of wave travel into a measure of level in the tank

Hydrostatic level transmitter:

• A hydrostatic level sensor is used to measure the pressure created by a liquid. The greater the height of the liquid, the greater the pressure
• The sensor needs to be close to the bottom of the tank and either fitted on the outside via a thread or a flange, or entering into the top of the tank and then attached to the bottom.
• The pressure creates movement of a flexible piece of metal or ceramic, known as a diaphragm, a bit like a drum, and the position of the diaphragm is measured and a signal is produced that relates to the level of liquid in the tank.

DP level transmitter:

• Differential pressure level measurement technique makes use of a differential pressure detector which is installed at the bottom of the tank whose level is to be detected. The liquid inside the tank creates pressure which is comparatively higher than the reference atmospheric pressure. This pressure comparison is performed via the Differential pressure detector
• Output of DP Transmitter which is 4-20mA connected to controller/indicator. Based on properties of tank, Level is calibrated at Controller/Indicator
• Capacitance level transmitters are also available
